Best way to override context menu defaults

What is the best way to override the default context menu item? So there is some hash calculation that depends on powershell and on a linux system system, I don't really need powershell, since there are better tools there for calculating hashes.

I could copy the entire configuration block into my config file and change a single sha256 entry, but is there another way?

I think of some mechanism of updating the right_click list in config. What if we could have some new override_right_click list, that just only updates the existing values and do not replace the right_click entirely?

can you give an example? overriding is still supported if you dont include the prefix

Okay, back to my initial issue. There is the  Get SHA256 entry what does not work on my system, because of lack of powershell, the solution would be to rewrite the entire right_click list. That's a bit tedious.

Using the append_ prefix would not solve this, it would just create a second  Get SHA256 entry (same label). So I think, an update_ thing would be great for such menu item replacements.

Another example. For some reason a user want to hide an menu entry, so he could create a right_click item with the empty action, and using the update_ prefix, make the item unavailable.

As for updating, how would they update a given index to something else? How do they even specify an index? this will get far too complicated

This is indeed a non-trivial problem, and there’s no elegant way to solve it without explicitly specifying the key used for the equality comparison. At least, I can’t think of such a generalized mechanism off the top of my head.
