KPDB for use in population projections #2264

@damonmcc

Description

@damonmcc

CAPS, Housing, and Population are working to create a dataset related to population growth (loosely called Population Projections) to use internally, share with other agencies, and include in Capital Projects Portal (CPP).

KPDB will be used in but there are two things that need to be resolved:

  • improve how the Jamaica and LIC neighborhood studies are incorporated
  • fix the DCP ZAP action that appears to be in the Hudson River

details

neighborhood studies

They are probably in the future neighborhood study source. We could move them over to the past study source if we wanted. Should just be a straightforward change of the numbers and that’s it.

We should probably change those two files into a single file and have a status field that tells you whether it’s been passed or simply proposed; separating them out into two files seems to causes more trouble that it's worth.

Hudson River record

There's a ZAP record that become associated with a lot in the middle of the Hudson River. Historically, the Housing team has corrected it in the KPDB versions they've shared with stakeholders. But It causes problems for the aggregate data. It's been fixed in ZAP, but Housing doesn't think think we should do a complete new pull of that data for the build that'd be used in Population Projections.
