No matter what settings I change Vibepollo always creates a Virtual Display that is 240Hz.
#499
I am streaming from a Windows 11 PC (5070 Ti) to an Nvidia Shield 2015 (Artemis) output to a LG C9 TV (HDMI 2.0). The PC desktop display is a LG G7 Odyssey that runs at default 2160x1440x239.96Hz. I have 4K resolution and 60Hz chosen in the Artemis Client settings and 4K60 chosen as the display output for the Nvidia Shield. My intent is to have Vibepollo stream a virtual display that is also 4K60 to match the Client and TV so that all three are synced to 4K60Hz. From my testing this has provided the best stutter experience in gaming at 4k60. I do not want the choices I make on the client to be multiplied by 2x, 4x, or any other multiplier. I also use RTSS to hook into the game I'm playing to limit the FPS to 60 and to enable Nvidia Reflex frame pacing. I have chosen "RTSS (recommended)" as the limit provider and toggled on the RTSS overlay to ensure that the limiter is function correctly during streaming. It is.
I use "Extended+Primary" over "Exclusive" mode after having been burned before with the Nvidia driver issue and losing access to my primary display when it wasn't reactivated upon quitting a stream. This also allows me to check the Windows advanced display settings easily on my extended PC desktop w/ mouse a keyboard to see if the correct resolution and refresh rate are on each of my two displays.
I have set Vibepollo to use Client settings. It ignores my 60Hz Client request and sets the virtual display to 240Hz per Windows Advanced display information.
I have tried disabling the "smooth capture for virtual displays" under Audio/Video options as it indicated it would disable the Client 60Hz 4x multiplication. it also indicated it would stop using RTSS and frame pacing. I do wish to continue using RTSS and Nvidia Reflex. I don't understand why the refresh rate multiplication and frame pacing are tied together. Regardless, disabling this option does not work as starting a stream still creates a 240Hz virtual display.
I have tried using the "Refresh rate" display override setting in Audio/Video settings by choosing "use manually entered refresh rate" and setting it to "60". I also then still get a a 240Hz virtual display.
I have gone to the client setting in Vibepollo for my Nvidia Shield and used the "display mode override feature" to force "3840x2160x60" and saved that setting. I also still get a 240Hz virtual display.
I can find no individual, group of settings, override(s), feature toggles, or any possible way to get Vibepollo to stop creating a 240Hz virtual display when I am requesting a 60Hz in my setup. My question, what am I doing wrong?
