Calling anifetch from shell's config file causes terminal to behave unexpectedly

Using foot terminal and fish shell:

Once I execute anifetch from my shell's config file (executing anifetch on its own causes no problems), after I CTRL+C my arrow keys output ^[[1;129A (B, C, or D for the other arrow keys) instead of going through my previous commands. Additionally, my next command does nothing and my command prompt is replaced with the first character of whatever command I tried to input before, and my command is still there. For example, after I CTRL+C:

jscrub@CachyOS ~> reboot
r reboot

From here commands work just fine, and my left and right arrow keys function correctly for things like autocompleting commands, but I am still unable to use my up arrow key to access my previous commands, but instead of outputting ^[[1;129A like before, it outputs nothing.

This is my first time submitting an issue like this, so I apologize if it's obvious that this is more a problem with the fish shell or foot terminal that's causing this. Let me know if I should be bringing this up with them instead, or if there's any other info I can give you that might help you find out what might be causing this.

I found out my problem had to do with executing anifetch directly from within fish's fish_greeting function. Instead, I defined a new function anifish.fish in ~/.config/fish/functions:

if status is-interactive
   function anifish
      anifetch example.mp4
   end
end

and then in the config.fish file in ~/.config/fish I would overwrite the fish_greeting function to be empty since it was being sourced from another file, and I would call anifish directly after:

function fish_greeting
end

anifish

Hello, with the 1.0 release of anifetch I included a fix for this built-in, would it be possible for you to check if this issue still happens in your terminal and shell without any special configurations? If the issue still happens, does the config solution you wrote still works? Thanks.

Hello, I also use Foot + fish combo for my current terminal, and I havent face any problem when putting anifetch directly in fish_greeting function , it just behave the same like running anifetch normaly.
