I'd be careful with timezones and general date-tine handling. This is one of the earliest issues we ran across when first building Atlas/WebAPI was date handling (and keeping it consistent across the Java service and Javascript clients). In some cases we just dropped the hours entirely and just recorded dates. We can probably spend some time in Atlas 3.x handling date/time with timezone more robustly, but I don't think any of our back end tables has timezone date-types (or at least it is not consistent).
