# Changelog

All notable user-facing changes to OpenScan3 firmware are documented here.

The format is based on [Keep a Changelog](https://keepachangelog.com/en/1.1.0/),
and this project adheres to [Semantic Versioning](https://semver.org/spec/v2.0.0.html).

### Fixed

- Picamera2 JPEGs now include the AliceVision Meshroom camera identities for known
  IMX519 and Arducam 64MP cameras, along with exposure time and ISO.
- Focus-stacked JPEGs now retain EXIF metadata from the middle focus image.
- Camera memory errors now appear in device status and require a camera restart;
  failed RGB/YUV captures are no longer retried.

## 0.13.2 - 2026-10-15

### Added

- Autofocus is no longer clamped to 12 and uses the full range up to 15.
- Added scanner-specific autofocus tuning for the OpenScan Mini with IMX519:
  macro autofocus uses the measured `11.0–15.0` dpt range with a turntable
  fallback at `11.9`.

### Changed

- Picamera2 manual camera controls are now consolidated and applied
  consistently to preview, still, JPEG, DNG, RGB, and YUV captures. Settings
  changes also rebuild the capture configurations.

### Fixed

- Restarting Picamera2 now cancels preview before closing and recreating the
  camera instance, preserving scanner-specific autofocus tuning and preventing
  devices from becoming unresponsive after Out-Of-Memory errors during capture.
- Fixed Picamera2 still captures ignoring updated shutter and other manual
  image controls after switching from preview, especially when cropping was
  enabled. RGB and YUV analysis captures remain uncropped.

### Added

- Tasks can now be chained by making one task depend on another. Dependent
  tasks wait for successful completion of their prerequisite.

### Changed

- Interrupted scan and focus-stacking tasks can be resumed after a restart.
  Scan progress and completed focus-stacking batches are reused, and replacing
  an old task preserves dependency chains.
- Clarified that the generic task endpoint is intended for experimental and
  custom tasks. Scan, focus-stacking, and cloud-upload tasks must use their
  project-specific endpoints.
