Periodic backups of the spreadsheets

Both spreadsheets currently live in Google Docs, which means we should have a sensible system for backing them up.

This could be as simple as a cron job that updates the copies in the /archive directory. It could be as clever as changing the web page to periodically update a local copy, allowing for a distributed system of backups.

In any case, having not-just-Google storing this important information is worth arranging.

Note that the spreadsheet referred to here is this one, specific to the us-govt-oss branch.

Actually there appears to be a backup of the spreadsheet in the archive/ directory on that branch. I don't know how recent that backup is, though.
