Description
Hey all,
I've been to a a few of these now and would love to give back by talking about something we've worked on fairly recently that I previously knew nothing about and have actually found quite interesting to work on and wrestle with.
I would suggest a structure along the lines of:
- What is localization and why localize your app?
- Basic JS localization syntax + ideas
- The real world: exceptions and gotchas
- Localization beyond the codebase (CMS/media etc)
- Localization of LLM-generated content
- Workflows: putting it all together in production
Here are some caveats, just to be completely transparent:
- This would be moderately technical (there'll be code examples etc) but we aren't talking deep JS internals here, it'll be just as much about the business and UX elements.
- I work at a startup so there may well be many people in the audience who are used to localizing day in, day out. I reckon there will be enough people out there who've not been exposed to doing localization in depth for this to be interesting and I'll aim to keep it engaging throughout, but I don't claim to necessarily know more about this than every single person in the audience.
- I'll do a very quick touch on who we are as a company to set the context for our localization journey, but I promise to keep the sales pitch to a minimum!
If the above sounds like it would be interesting, hit me up :)
