You can use the nix version on it, at least if steam has been installed through xbps. I haven't tried flatpak steam.

Do note that the above post was written back in the systemd days of Void, so you want to enable and start the service with regular sv method instead.

I was able to unlock a few in-game-bugged achievements with this, but the stat editing doesn't seem to work for me, unfortunately, without printing any logs.

Hi, I tried downloading and installing void linux but ran into issues. I'm an not an old man yet but now I don't have the energy anymore to spend hours fighting to figure out a Linux distro.

However, if people from the Void linux community help identify what goes wrong we can figure something out.

Are you using musl or libc?

Can you tell me where Steam (steamclient.so) is located?

Steam isn't normally available on musl, if it is, it'll be in flatpak
For glibc installation, the .so is in ~/.local/share/Steam/linux32/steamclient.so (and ../linux64/..)
AppImage works (I've tried both versions today, both worked)

I'm pretty sure they just want the software packaged, and probably in official repo no less

Thank you for your reply. This software is licensed under GPLv3, which means third party are allowed to freely distribute it.
I will not personally take action to add SamRewritten to xbps but if you want to, please do! If you need some help or assistance please ask away as well, I would be happy to help out.

If SamRewritten gets on xbps, please let me know so I can add the template file to the package directory for reference.

I will keep this issue open until then :)
