If you use Linux, try this to fix the freezing app when using the device tab. Tested on Mint, and CachyOS. #222

Thanks for this! It works on CachyOS (Arch-based) with Plasma 6 on Wayland too, not just Ubuntu. My setup: RX 7900 XT, Mesa 26.2.1, QIDIStudio 2.07.02.60, QIDI Plus 4. Before the fix, clicking my printer in the Device tab segfaulted every time, including with a completely fresh config. With the shim preloaded, the Fluidd view loads and stays up. The log shows "[vr-fix] patch injected into WebView" on each view. It is noticeably laggy once Fluidd is loaded, but it no longer crashes, which is the main thing. I compiled it with the build line from the .c file and added it to the .desktop entry so it applies automatically: Exec=env DESKTOPINTEGRATION=false LD_PRELOAD=/home/user/.local/lib/webkit_vueresize_fix.so /usr/bin/QIDIStudio Might be worth widening the title, since this fixes the same crash outside Ubuntu. |
Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.
webkit_vueresize_fix.c
webkit_vueresize_fix.so.txt
So I am attaching a fix file that will need to be compiled on the system (the dot.c file), or I am attaching my compiled version of the .so file (just drop the .txt). if you attempt to use my compiled version, I do not know if it will work, but am hopeful. if you open the dot.c file you can see the instructions for build and usage of the file. while the file was orginally for orcasilcer, it resolves the same issue on QIDIStudio.
Instructions from the dot.c file

For Appimage useage, the same idea works. For example, I can run from the terminal "env LD_PRELOAD=/home/reigar/.fix/webkit_vueresize_fix.so /home/reigar/Applications/QIDIStudio_v02.07.02.60_Ubuntu24_f832cd9a139bef89f3c5f7002830bcc9.AppImage %F" and the appimage runs just fine, and does not freeze if I try to view the webserver powered by fluid in the device tab.
