what's the easiest way to use this script build rocm2.1 ?

I tried this script but it still point to old 2.0.x code. are there any parameter can be set to build latest rocm2.1 ?

I have not had the available time to update these scripts to compile ROCm 2.1 yet, so no, there is no simple path to do that at this time.

the amdgpu driver was hardcoded to kernel 2.0-89 , but the latest version was 2.1-96, should simple replace the version number works for 01_00_rock-dkms.sh ?

For the build scripts? No. Especially not the ROCK build script. It rebuilds the DKMS driver by downloading the source code from the GitHub repo, and Experimental_ROC has to carry along the device firmware in a tarball, and it must carry along a few DKMS-specific files that are not included in the ROCK GitHub repo. I need to bring all that into the Experimental_ROC repo on every new ROCm release, and I have yet to do that for ROCm 2.1.

However, you should be able to just skip the 01_00_rock-dkms.sh script and just download the .deb or .rpm file. The magic of DKMS is that these .deb and .rpm files already include the source code for the kernel driver (it's placed into /usr/src/amdgpu-*). So you can skip running that script entirely and just download the rock-dkms archive from repo.radeon.com if you so desire.

For the other software, you could try updating ROCM_VERSION_MINOR in https://github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/Experimental_ROC/blob/master/distro_install_scripts/shared_files/common_options.sh. That will not update applications (as there are many libraries and tools that do not use the roc-2.1.0 tagging scheme) and I have yet to verify if the scripts will build the new ROCm 2.10.0 releases of this software so you mean run into problems.
