[Announcement] Entering LTS — Feature Freeze in Effect

v5 LTS Maintenance Mode

Status: Active | Current LTS: v5.7.x | Scope: All @eslint-react/* packages and plugins

We are designating v5 as a Long-Term Support (LTS) release to minimize breaking changes for the foreseeable future. Until this issue is closed, the project will prioritize routine maintenance and incremental improvements to existing rules. New feature development is temporarily on hold.

Maintenance Policy

• Bug fixes: Accepted and shipped in patch releases.
• Rule improvements: Ongoing — better accuracy, fewer false positives, performance.
• Documentation: Ongoing.
• Internal refactoring: Allowed if externally non-breaking.
• New rules / features: Paused; deferred to v6 or later.
• Breaking changes: Restricted; not introduced unless critical.

Key Deliverables During LTS

• EXP Rules Graduation (#1743)
  Gradually graduate EXP (experimental) rules to stable status where feasible during the v5 LTS period. We aim to promote as many as possible, but each rule must independently satisfy stability requirements, demonstrate positive community feedback, and be free of known major false positives before its EXP flag is removed. Progress is tracked in EXP Rules Graduation Tracking #1743.
