Not exactly a problem but if you don't export the controller config before configuring one for a connected device, there's no way to restore the default settings.
Describe the solution you'd like
Either add a default.json file with the default configuration for us to always be able to select, add a "Would you like to export the current settings first?" pop up when configuring a controller, or add a "Restore to Default Settings" button that is able to restore the initial keyboard layout.

No alternatives currently exist other than manually setting all the buttons yourself again.
