ROBOKOP New Source Proposal Tracker

Welcome to the ROBOKOP New Source Proposal Tracker. This repository is managed by the Data Modeling Oversight Group (DMOG) and is used to gather and evaluate candidate data sources for potential inclusion in the ROBOKOP knowledge graph.

About

ROBOKOP (Reasoning Over Biomedical Objects linked in Knowledge Oriented Pathways) integrates diverse biomedical datasets into a knowledge graph that supports question answering, discovery, and hypothesis generation.

To maintain high quality and interoperability, all proposed sources are evaluated based on:

  • Scientific relevance
  • Technical compatibility (with Biolink and KGX)
  • Licensing and accessibility
  • Alignment with FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable)

This repository tracks source proposals and enables community members, collaborators, and maintainers to suggest new datasets for inclusion.

🚀 How to Propose a Source

If you are aware of a data source that could strengthen ROBOKOP's capabilities, follow the steps below to submit a proposal.

📝 Submit a New Source

  1. Go to the Issues tab of this repository.
  2. Click “New Issue.”
  3. Select the “New Source Proposal” template.

The form will ask about:

  • Source name, description, and maintainer
  • How you discovered the source (e.g., collaborator, publication)
  • Licensing and access details
  • Biological levels covered
  • Related ROBOKOP use cases (if applicable)
  • Potential benefits of integrating the source

🔍 What Happens After Submission?

  • Your proposal will be reviewed by DMOG.
  • You may be contacted for clarification or additional details.
  • The source will be evaluated using a structured internal scoring system.
