While we can very easily speed up the process of rusting by using sponge, it would be really convienient to also be able to scrape rust from the blocks by either using axe... or perhaps with another item if you want rust to not be as easily removed as oxidization from copper blocks.
One idea that comes to mind for a different way of removing rust could be by using one of many Potions (Instant Harming comes to mind), Magma Cream (a fictional material with many properties like ability to either make potion of immunity to harsh heat or a crafting ingriedient for magma blocks) or we could take a book from real life and use... Potatoes.
Yes, one of recomended method to remove rust is by using Potatoes! ...and Soap, but that would have to come from Supplementaries OR you would have to add your own soap.
Even if we ignore the soap (though it is quite important for removing rust irl), having a very niche and specific use for (Poisonous?) Potatoes could be quite funny not gonna lie.
An alternative that could maybe be considered would be Lemon (or Lime) and Salt, though in this case you would need to mod in both Salt and Lemons (or Limes) and justify both of them for other things than just derusting your iron blocks.
At the very least if it's not going to be something turned on by default, I would apreciate a setting for this.
