@javijv4 is currently working on refactoring the 0D coupling implementation (see #73). As discussed in that issue, the new object oriented design should also allow fairly straightforward implementation of 1D coupling, although this has not been done yet (and actually has never existed in svMultiPhysics, to my knowledge). I think we should let @javijv4 finish refactoring the 0D coupling, then add 1D coupling (to svOneDSolver) within the new object oriented framework.

Ok, please coordinate with @taeoukkim and @sshadden when you get to that point (@taeoukkim is a PhD student in the Shadden lab who is working on 3D 1D coupling).

Hi @aabrown100-git, thanks — this is perfect timing.
I’ve been working on the 1D side and have nearly finished setting up the API for the coupling, and was about to integrate it with the 3D solver. I agree it makes sense to align with the ongoing 0D refactoring.
I’m happy to pause here and adapt the implementation once the new framework is in place.
In the meantime, I’d be glad to connect with @javijv4 to discuss how the new design will look and ensure compatibility.

Made 1D APIs to be consistent with existing 0D APIs for coupling with 3D solver.
