Mark 3 - HPM14A seems very hard to find - rough equivalent ?

I currently use some TDK ones but they are smaller and too quiet for my liking (even after taking the LED out and running at 12v).

I bought some others from Digikey trying to match specs, but they make more of a beeping sound rather than click. Instead of running my bank account out buying batches of buzzers I don't like - I figured I'd ask here :)

Oh, I had no idea that this particular buzzer model could be difficult to find:( It just happened to be in stock at my local electronics store (and I was quite pleased with the sound it produced).

I have some other models on hand, but I believe they're all nonames (will look again though, just to be sure).

At this point I think it is matter of trial and error (and personal preference of course) to find similar (or even better) one.

Just to clarify one thing: setting POT1 (or rather R4+POT1 combo) to a higher value doesn't improve sound much (in case of "beeping" buzzers you have)?

Ahh I haven't checked that. Since I posted this question - I actually went "nuclear" - built a small amplifier circuit and am using a speaker:

It's far from elegant - but plenty loud. Since I am kind of "burying" this inside the case - I needed more volume to be able to hear it with the case back on the machine(s).
