Request unlock 60 FPS for "FC 25" v1.78.24c5

Hello thank you Stevens for all your efforts I have read the documentation that you have written for creating a custom mod using ghidra + switch loader extension. I have tried to unlock the FPS for this game but unfortunately I couldn't succeed. My output result:

From FPS locker-warehouse I got this address C1 F7 01 6F and I have followed all the instructions that you mention in your repo. After installing the required tools I have searched for C1 F7 01 6F and I have founded one address it was linked to this function

I'm still nooby in reverse engineering. I got some help using AI to create some useless mods like this one for example:

I won't do a mod for a game that sizes around 11-12GB, the updates are 20GB or more moreless and have a lot of updates

It's a waste of time + tracking all the updates is a nightmare.

These types of games usually don't run well on emulators with a few exceptions. Some of them even have visual glitches. Besides it's not a type of game that I'm attracted to and will play every day.

So ... My suggestion is click on DAT_710c89aea8 and try to find something there. fVar3= 60.0/ float seems a tip (info extracted from the Decompile tab).

If that doesn't work then click on DAT_710ce66a68 which is more close to the FPSLocker Patch address info and try to find something there.

If you quick: You just can open Ghidra, select the main file, right click on it and click on Export. Format: Ghidra Zip File.

Sorry for make you wait but I had issues testing this game due to crashes and sometimes asking for Ethernet Conection (and yes, I press A buttom and still won't pass that screen). Also Fl4sh gave me some tips for the codecave.

I will try to explain this in the best possible way so that you understand more or less how it works. This mod is somewhat “advanced” and it's not something that is usually done while making other 60FPS mods (if the game engine allows to do the mod in a simple way without having to deal with game speed, softlocks etc etc).

If we want 60FPS to work, we will be doing a codecave.

Why?.

If you use ARMConverter website and tpye C1F7016F in Hex Mode or fmov v1.2d, #0x403e000000000000 in Assembly, you'll notice that 0x403e000000000000 is represented as #30.00000000.

That's a double value and not a float.

The logic will be replace 30 for 60. However, you can't do that. ARMConverter won't give you the code for 60. The max value you can use is 31. So that's why we need the codecave.

I recorded two videos so you can watch what I'm doing in real time (and for avoid posting a lot of screenshots). My PC won't let me merged them into 1 so ... sorry for that. These are the videos:

Remember that you must find a ret or B before our result.

So ... what we are patching is:

Watch the videos and keep this info, so you'll know what you will have to if a next update is released. Also keep in mind that if a new update is released, you'll have to update the codecave but the process should be similar, you would just need to find the nops again as well as get the offset from the FPSLocker Patch.

That's all. However you haven't finish yet.

You only unlocked the FPS but the game will still run at 30FPS. The fix is: Press Control U/F1 to unlock the FPS, set the limit speed percent to 200 % or still using Ghidra and the .pchtxt mod.

If you don't want to use all that stuff and you want to add the missing info to your .pchtxt, you will need to set the present interval.

This is a guide about how to do that. However, I'll give you the code for a better method. Just create a new file and name it something like v2.pchtxt

Copy & paste the following info inside this new .pchtxt file:

For the complete 60FPS mod, you'll need the two .pchtxt files, otherwise it won't work.

With this step you'll have the mod done. You don't need to update this latest v2.pchtxt file unless the game developers change something in their code that breaks this stuff. You'd only need to update the other .pchtxt file.

I hope you have understood all this information and are more or less clear on what needs to be done.

In summary: what I said before: all this is very time consuming (for the tests it took me 1 hour for YANU to do the merge of the base game + update) because Yuzu forks don't work well with large updates, add to that the time to extract and analyze the main file + crashes doing tests ...

It's not worth wasting my time on this kind of games which lot of updates and sizes around 20GB (Base Game + Updates).

Also, I have changed the emulator to support a custom refresh rate of 200% but the FPS of the game is still locked at 30fps
