OLED display for Retro-Lite-CM5 not reliably available (order refunded)

Issue:

The 5.44" OLED display used in the Retro-Lite-CM5 project is currently not reliably purchasable via the provided link:

I placed an order using this link, but the order was cancelled by the seller and I received a refund. This indicates that the part is not actually available or not consistently supplied.

Problem:

Purchase through the provided link was not fulfilled
Order was cancelled and refunded by the seller
The component is not reliably obtainable for reproduction
This creates a dependency on a non-available part in the project BOM

Impact:
This makes it difficult or impossible to reliably reproduce the Retro-Lite-CM5 build with the specified display.

Request:

• Please verify whether the current display link is still valid
• If the part is no longer available, please provide:
  an official replacement display option, or
  an updated, verified source for the same panel
• Optionally update the README/BOM to reflect a stable supply chain

Hi!

Thanks for flagging this.

For now, I recommend building the non-OLED version. There is a new display coming from the same manufacturer (Youritech) but it isn't until June 2026. It also is using a different touch/display IC, so it won't be drop in, we will need to figure out how to get it working. Hopefully, the dimensions will stay the same.
