Bedrock Panel — licensing notice
==============================
This repository is split-licensed.
MIT (see ./LICENSE)
-------------------
All original work in this repository, including:
- app/ the Electron launcher: multi-grid panel, touch/knob handling,
volume + grid-selector logic, and the PC grid editor
- everything not listed under PolyForm below
PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 (see ./src/LICENSE)
------------------------------------------------
Everything that embeds the reverse-engineered device protocol:
- src/Aris68Connector.js the device driver
- docs/DEVICE_PROTOCOL.md the protocol specification
- tools/probe.js standalone HID probe (inlines the protocol parse)
- tools/writetest.js standalone write-path test (inlines the frame format)
Why the split
-------------
src/Aris68Connector.js encodes the DK-QUAKE / ARIS-68 device communication
protocol (HID interface IDs, frame format, opcodes, checksum, and the parse
logic). The two tools/ scripts each embed their own inline copy of that same
protocol logic. It was all reverse-engineered from DK-Suite V0.4.35. The device
vendor described the communication protocol as a restricted-for-commercial
component, with non-commercial use permitted. To respect that without betting on
how it interacts with the upstream Apache-2.0 release, every file that carries
the protocol is released for NONCOMMERCIAL USE ONLY. This may be relaxed to a
permissive license if explicit written commercial permission is obtained from
the protocol holders.
The launcher and editor (app/) are wholly original work — they do not derive
from the DK-Suite renderer — and are MIT-licensed.
What is NOT in this repository
------------------------------
No vendor source code, binaries, or API keys are included. The recovered
DK-Suite source used during reverse-engineering is kept in a separate, private
location and is not part of this project.
