After searching within document or people tab the user is returned to default the All | People | Docs view, there is some argument for this as the search box is global, with filters normally happening after a keyword search, or via a pill-box addition to the search.
I think this is the correct UX paradigm, but putting this here in case I have introduce regression / need to check.
If a user starts here:
https://collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/search/documents
Then searches for 'locomotives' they are sent to
https://collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/search?q=locomotive
Which is the default tab layout, rather than search within the documents tab
https://collection.sciencemuseumgroup.org.uk/search/documents?q=locomotive
In terms of behavior / precedent, a user can search within a category, but that is because we have a pill-box within the search interface. So the search within behaviour is more explicitly labeled.
