DID under V5

We are conducting proof of concept for DID issuer method for Transferable Documents. As mentioned in the Tradetrust documentation DID works well for verifiable documents.
However while building DID support for a Transferable document like Bill of Lading, the identity of the issuer becomes important as explained in the below Trade Trust document.

DNS provides a clear and recognizable domain name directly linked to the domain owner's identity. In contrast, DID utilizes a wallet address, which is a complex string of characters that lacks direct association with a specific individual or organization.
For experimenting we tried to create a transferable document with the DID method, we could create the document but while verifying it was visible as verifiable document rather than Transferable.
Identification of the document issuer remains a challenge for DID based Transferable document.
In your latest version V5 documentation, the below table shows that "Identifiable issuer" is not available for Transferable documents under DID on Tradetrust. We are in the process of upgrading our dapp to V5. Can you guide us more on this ?

Hi,

Currently, if you are using DID:ETHR with document schema OA v2, we do not support this DID:ETHR for Transferable Records.

But we have upgraded recently to use W3C VC schema. The library we pushed out is TrustVC. https://github.com/TrustVC/trustvc

By using this new library we can be able to issue a Transferable Records with a DID. But the DID method is DID:WEB. It is a new DID method and due to the signing algorithm used for the document, it does not support DID:ETHR.

With this new update you will be able to identity the issuer with a DID:WEB and add the transferability of the document with this Token Registry v5.

I apologise for the messy documentation, our team is revising the documentation and updating it tas we speak, to make it easier for users to understand.

I hope this help clear up some of the misunderstanding regarding the use of DID in Transferable Records.
