Maintain support for GRIB1 ???

Should we try to maintain support for GRIB1 ?

It looks like already with some recent versions of eccodes, epygram fails to write fields into GRIB1. Hence the question, should we put efforts into trying this obsolete format ? Especially writing GRIB1 ?
Unless strongly motivated opinions for it, this will not be given any effort for the time being...
