Describe your idea

I am using the io-software-ai/palserver-gui project, which includes PalDefender. The project is running on Microsoft Windows Server 2025 Datacenter. However, the server frequently encounters the following errors, preventing it from functioning properly. I have disabled the firewall, removed the antivirus software, and confirmed that the backup directory allows the current user to write data (possibly due to permission issues?), but the problem has not been resolved.

The service of the io-software-ai/palserver-gui project runs normally when PalDefender is not enabled. However, once PalDefender is enabled, the server fails to operate properly after showing "Failed to save. Failed to copy from backup". Please help me. I will keep monitoring this issue at all times. @qq5698263 Please make sure you are using the latest version of PalDefender. They may have shipped it with the outdated/unsupported version. The latest version is 1.8.3 currently. Latest Release Here

With this software, is it possible to install a fresh copy of PalDefender from this repo? There's a chance that either PalDefender got corrupted or your entire PalServer got corrupted.
If you can install a fresh copy of PD, try that first.
If not, try starting a new fresh server. I recently had a corrupt world and I got Failed to save. Failed copy from backup. error too. I setup a completely fresh directory and reinstalled, and everything worked for me.

GetPlayerManager is only called by the RESTAPI or broadcasting chat messages. are you using the restapi?

Yes, I did use the REST API, but this shouldn't be a problem with the API itself, because after each occurrence of "Failed to save. Failed to copy from backup", the server stops functioning properly.

I am using the latest version of PalDefender, which is v1.8.3. However, I have now reinstalled the system to Linux and no longer use PalDefender. Because since deploying PalDefender on Windows 2025, it has never worked properly. Or maybe it's a problem with the Tencent Cloud server I'm using, as I've seen similar issues on YouTube.

Hmm that's weird - it would help to know what the restapi called. But looking at the code I can't see how that is failing at all. So if you have more insights that would help

The REST API is used to retrieve the player's inventory information. The detailed answer can be found in the io-software-ai/palserver-gui project.

Have you double checked and triple check that the player id is correct?
Maybe you were using the Player Name or something else that wasn't either the Player ID or the User ID of the in game character. Or maybe you didn't supply it as a valid string.
