I am very glad to see a software similar to Adobe Flash that is implemented using today’s latest JavaScript technology. Wick Editor looks great. This issue is a request for Wick Editor to complete its basic drawing functions to be on par with those of Flash software. Flash’s vector drawing functionality is extremely user-friendly, much more so than software like Adobe Illustrator. Moreover, I was surprised to find out today that there isn't any other software offering similar functionalities or alternatives. In Flash, using the selection tool (black arrow), it is very convenient to clip, deform, splice lines and patterns (as shown in the example images; achieving such effects with PS, AI, etc., would be extremely cumbersome), because their strokes (lines) and fills are attributes of the same path object, they are one entity, and I cannot easily separate them for cropping and combining. In Flash, we just need to sketch the line art, adjust it slightly with the mouse, and finally use the paint bucket tool to color – isn’t this the most intuitive and natural painting process that should conform to designers' and artists' instincts? Tools like the pen tool in PS, AI compared to this type in Flash become very hard to use (notably Flash also supports the use of the pen tool). It is hoped that Wick Editor can also perfect similar functionalities. I hope that in the future, I will be able to use Wick Editor to replace my vector graphics drawing workflow. The reason I raise this issue is that I feel this functionality shouldn’t be particularly complex (maybe it might be somewhat complex), but once realized, it could almost meet all simple vector graphic drawing needs. And basically, only two tools (the line tool and the black arrow selection tool) are needed. With Flash’s simplest tools, nearly all requirements for graphic drawing have been fulfilled – draw a linear version, then twist it into curves with the mouse, trim appropriately, and then color with the paint bucket. It is hoped that Wick Editor can realize these two seemingly simple but extremely useful tools. Flash also had a feature I particularly liked: group isolation. That is, if I double-clicked on a layer group, I could enter this group alone for editing while isolating all elements outside the group (invisible or semi-transparent, uneditable). This function is also very convenient (incidentally mentioned). Here, it's not about wanting Wick Editor to completely turn into or copy Flash, but such simple and easy-to-use drawing functions are, I think, an indispensable part of the workflow for animation or game production software and must be included.
