Help with setting up ECWolf on Ubuntu

I'm trying to get ECWolf to work with the Flatpak version of Doom Runner 1.9.2, which I installed using the steps provided by the author of the source port: https://maniacsvault.net/ecwolf/download.php

However, when I add the ECWolf executable found in /usr/games/ and attempt to launch it, I get this error message:
Portal call failed: Failed to start command: Failed to change to directory �/run/flatpak/doc/27847b3c� (No such file or directory)

Any idea what could be causing this?

I am able to get the ECWolf executable to work using the dynamic exe of Doom Runner, but not the Flatpak.

Hello. Is there any particular reason why you want to use the Flatpak version of DoomRunner on Ubuntu over the newly added AppImage version? I unfortunatelly cannot provide support for the Flatpak installation, because i did not create that package and i'm not familiar enough with the Flatpak ecosystem. If you only use Flatpak to automatically handle the dependencies, i suggest you try the DoomRunner-1.9.2-Linux-x86_64.AppImage, it generally works better for these use-cases because it doesn't do any sandboxing and file path virtualization.

The reason I use Flatpak is because it lets me get updates automatically through my package manager, which as far as I'm aware isn't always the case with AppImages. That said, AppImages are definitely easier to work with when it comes to the things you mention at the end of your comment.

Another thing that would be nice is if the AppImage conformed to the UI of the desktop environment, in my case KDE Plasma, since this makes the application fit in better with all my other applications:

...and by the way, thanks for making this launcher.

I think it's the best launcher for Doom-like games there is, since it makes it quite easy to organise and create complex game presets.

I'm also happy it has a native Linux version, since I've migrated to this OS recently.
