Goal

Restructure the Work section into Flagship cards / Utility table / separate Fun + Professional sections / third-party table, all fed by generated src/data/portfolio.json (dev-observatory is the single edit surface); rewrite 'How it all fits together' around the tools; adopt the proposal brand tokens with auto light/dark; deploy x-marks-the-spot to GitHub Pages; ship through the existing CI gates with live-bytes verification.

Phase — Work-Section Refresh (Steps 7–12): SHIPPED + LIVE

The automated span (Steps 7–12, issues #23–#28, all closed) is complete, deployed, and live at https://aberson.github.io. Per-step audit trail is on #23–#28.

What shipped

• Observatory-fed Work section: src/data/portfolio.json (dev-observatory export) → src/data/portfolio.ts (Zod §5d gate + group-count pin, fail-loud) → WorkSection/PortfolioCard rendering five groupings (Flagship 3 / Utility 13 / Fun 6 / Professional 3 / Third-party 2). ProjectGrid/ProjectCard removed.
• "How it all fits together" → 3-beat tools narrative (career-ops loop dropped).
• Cream/gold palette with auto light/dark (prefers-color-scheme; forced light removed; all text/bg pairs WCAG 2 AA).
• x-marks-the-spot deployed to its own gh-pages (https://aberson.github.io/x-marks-the-spot/); the Fun card links it live.
• CONTENT.md documents the observatory-fed content flow; /repo-update reconciled README/CLAUDE.md/plan.md.

Gates: astro check 0/0/0 · Prettier 0 · no-TODO: · build 0 · linkinator 24 links / 0 broken. Deployed via GitHub Actions (green).

Remaining: M4 operator visual UAT of the live refresh is tracked at #29 (five blocks, both themes, mobile, xmarks link, case studies). Leaving this umbrella open until M4 signs off.
