[Feature Request] Add method call count

Hi Andrew,

Would it be possible to implement method call count in Scout so that we can see how much a certain method or function is called in a frame.

It can be very useful for optimizing code, especially for complex libraries like Box2D.

Interesting idea but that could generate a huge amount of data, depending on which methods are being tracked... would this be something that we limit to user-space code i.e. the code that you are running as the external SWF file(s)? or would you want also to track the usage of internal functions (the AIR APIs or AS3 language elements etc)? or have it configurable somehow?!

Functions such as the constructor of a String, or calls to dispatchEvent, I suspect will be quite popular ..

Exactly! I would include all methods even from AIR API and AS3 also I would not worry about memory consumption at all as this is debugging after all and memory is plenty today :D

Configuration is a must with this I would agree. For starters just make checkmark at the left menu for enabling method call counting and add new tab below after Memory Allocations or ActionScript tab for previewing.

This can really help in code optimization and can add another dimension at what is going on when code is running which can easily give a better and more clear picture to the developer.

I would really really like to see this feature implemented in Adobe Scout.
