Giver doesn't show other users on the same machine

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start Giver on computer #1
2. Log to computer #1 from computer #2 as another user (in this case
through NX)
3. Start Giver on computer #2

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Giver shoud show the other user on each of the two computers, but the
recipients list remains empty.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.1.8 on Kubuntu 9.10
