excerpt in seperate paragraph

First of all: GREAT plugin!
But I have seen in the html code, that the plugin generates a paragraph <p class="pis-excerpt" ...> which is empty.
After that, there is a new paragraph without a class that countains the actual text.

I noticed this behavior in some cases, when other users asked me for help, but never in my sites. For this reason I don't know the exact reason for this, perhaps it depends on the theme in use or on some other plugin.

Could you test if this happens even if you use one of the WordPress standard themes?

In the basic theme (twenty twenty-one) the paragraphing is correct. I am using BuddyX (actually a child of BuddyX to allow css changes), and there i can see the empty paragraph. However I have found a thread reporting something similar https://wordpress.org/support/topic/empty-paragraphs-inserted-after-last-update/ and the workaround in there is okay for now. Using the child theme, i just added the following to the style.css
body p:empty:before { content: none; }

Ok, but that remains a workaround.

Probably, if I would have chosen to use a div instead of a p element, the problem would have never appeared.

Changing it now is a problem. I will take a look if I can do something anyway.
