Contributing to Vecmat

We don't have any complicated rules for contributing yet.
We expect people to comply with the project Philosophy and Goals and take responsibility.

Personal Responsibility

  • When you contribute or share a derivative, you take responsibility that the work has enough original human authorship, and that any AI-generated parts don't violate someone else's terms or the project LICENSE.

  • Remember that one of the goals of Vecmat is being a C alternative to mission-critical applications — and that means it requires good oversight.

Artificial Intelligence Guidelines and Transparency

AI Use

Use of AI is neither prohibited nor encouraged. You may use AI only if you follow all the guidelines in this section.

AI Disclosure

If you add AI-generated material to a contribution or derivative work, say so clearly in the pull request, and only in rare situations in commit message or comments. We encourage personal responsibility on the matter.

AI Training

If you train an AI system on this code for making your contributions (embeddings, etc.), it is recommended to give it the whole project, including in-code comments and any generated or online documentation.
