Openslide integration missing some of the latest features and fixes #52

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your work on this lib. I am trying to use the openslide integration to read isyntax & i2syntax WSI. That works very nicely for the isyntax I had.
However, since the openslide-integration PR is behind main, it is missing a few key features that would be nice to have. In particular, reading i2syntax is currently not possible.
I did a local rebase of main onto openslide-integration and was able to successfully read i2syntax WSI with openslide (though I am not sure if I did it correctly).
I was wondering if there was plan for the openslide-integration PR to be merged onto main in order to have a more up to date version of that lib via the Libisyntax integration PR on openslide.
