Mega Eye

The so-called Mega Eye is a habitable part of Town World formed within the edges of the intense permanent hurricanes that rage over most of the planet due to the temperature variations. The storms are managed from the moon to counterbalance each other and create a small livable region that more-or-less maintains its position, shape and size. The Mega Eye is named for its similarity to the calm eyes at the centers of hurricanes and permacanes, but is much larger and would not occur without the moon's management. Another difference is lightning activity. Unlike Earth hurricanes, where there is often very little lightning near the eye-wall, but quite a bit near the periphery, the strenght of these storms mean there is high activity and large electical fields similar to thunderstorms. (see nasa says so) Thus the synthetic Mega Eye is ringed by lightning and lightning farms which can be maintained by the residents within the Mega Eye.
