Videos and Hypno poorly cropped when "Run mpv in a Subprocess" is enabled

After updating from version 19 to version 20, I've suddenly found that when the "run mpv in a Subprocess" setting is enabled, all videos and images with a hypno effect are seemingly poorly cropped? Most of the time they appear as just a black box, but sometimes just the edge of the image or video is visible. Additionally, there is no accompanying audio. The program works just fine when the setting is disabled, but I am curious as to what could be causing the issue and if there is any fix.

This is almost certainly due to 388f929, but we haven't been able to reproduce it on Windows 11 with Python 3.12 and 3.13. In the worst case the commit can be reverted, but if we can find out what exactly is causing it that may not be necessary.
