What license is this project using?
Is it light OSI like BSD/MIT, or heavy like GPL, or even custom one?

Sorry for answering late.

So far I didn't think about a license. Of the top of my head I think that I'd like to have access to modifications because understanding the binary format is quite some work which I'd like to avoid if someone else did it. AFAIK that points to something GPLish.

Right now I own 100% of the code. So I'm able to relicense that in case some interesting proposal or argument(s) come forth.
