Dead Cells fails to start on TrimUI Brick with NextUi

Oops sorry forgot the paths a bit different. Should be at SDCARD/Roms/Ports (PORTS)/.ports/deadcells/patch/patch.bash. Pretty sure I saw the patch folder in your video

I renamed the extension to .txt since GitHub doesn't allow me to attach .bash files.

Hi!
I tried this and it actually started the patching process!
Unfortunately, it crashed after a minute or two.
I started it again, and then it worked for almost an hour. It finished with the compilation process, which should apparently be the longest part and then shortly after crashed again.
Finally, I started the game again, the patching process started from the beginning and I'm currently compiling at 3%. I'll let you know if it works this time, but it will take an hour or two to test out.

Wow that's taking a long time. Might be that it doesn't have enough RAM etc. Can you upload the log file again?

Hello, @ben16w! I attempted to install Dead Cells with the latest release from this repo, and also ran into the issue where it claimed to be compiling for about an hour, told me to press A to launch Dead Cells, and then crashed. Upon relaunch, I was prompted with the patching screen again, which again took about an hour with the same results.

Attaching the various log files, in order:

• /.userdata/tg5040/logs/PORTS.txt -> PORTS.txt
• /Roms/Ports (PORTS)/.ports/deadcells/patchlog.txt -> patchlog.txt
• /Roms/Ports (PORTS)/.ports/deadcells/patch/patch.bash -> patch-bash.txt

EDIT: Just realized my Brick did not come with the latest Stock OS installed, I'm going to update my firmware and retry – but leaving these here for posterity.

Hi thanks for all the info. Looks like it's failing when patching the audio files. I've tried removing that bit from patch.bash to see if it helps. It's it possible for you to test it? I don't own the game. Just replace the patch.bash with this one patch-bash.txt

Thanks for that updated script, @ben16w! It's still not running, but I'm seeing very different failure behavior this time.

Patching took significantly longer and it appears to have made it through texture compression and asset-patching, then prompts to launch Dead Cells, but when I press A, I get a black screen for a few seconds, then kicked back to the main menu. When I try to re-open Dead Cells from NextUI's main menu, it doesn't run the patcher again, and instead I get the same black screen into a crash and back to the main menu. More logs:
