Contributor License Agreement (CLA) for org

Thank you for your interest in contributing to org.

This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") is between Benjamin Hammond ("Project Owner") and the individual or entity ("You") submitting contributions to the org project ("Project").

1. Definitions

"Contribution" means any source code, object code, documentation, or other work of authorship submitted to the Project.

2. Copyright and License Grant

You hereby assign to the Project Owner all right, title, and interest in and to your Contributions, including any associated intellectual property rights, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

The Project Owner grants back to You a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and sublicense your Contributions as part of the Project or otherwise, under the terms of the Project's open source license in effect at the time of your Contribution.

3. Certification

By submitting a Contribution, You certify that:

  • (a) The Contribution is your original work, or you have the right to submit it.
  • (b) You have the authority to grant the rights described in this Agreement.
  • (c) Your Contribution is provided under the Project's open source license, currently the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPLv3+), unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. Purpose of Assignment

The assignment of copyright ensures the Project Owner can:

  • Re-license the Project under different terms in the future.
  • Offer commercial licenses to third parties.
  • Defend the Project against misuse.

5. No Warranty

You provide your Contribution "AS IS" without warranties or conditions of any kind.

6. Acceptance

By submitting a Contribution to the Project (e.g., via pull request, patch, or other method), You agree to the terms of this Contributor License Agreement.
