Whats the plan?

Hi @beno, thanks for contributing that project. I wonder whats your plan for all that is? Currently I see two projects: the parser based on Crystal and the HTML renderer.

• The parser is currently very simple. Are you planning to extend it to build a full RAML 1.0 parser?
• Whats on your roadmap?
• Interested in writing a small "Sneak Peek" on our forum for your project? :)

Hi,

Of course I’d like it to grow to a full 1.0 parser/renderer , simply because I like doing it and I need one I grok for my job. Roadmap:

• merge includes (done)
• merge types, resourceTypes, traits into resources
• handle <> in resourceTypes, traits, etc
• handle the various specification styles (responses/request) RAML allows

Do you see any other missing bits? Is there some kind of reference test I can use to check for compliance?

Anyhow, I hope to finish this in the next two or three weeks. But be advised, I am a Crystal newbie wrestling my way through it's type system, so I am not at all sure if something like this is worthwhile for your forum. But of course I would be willing to share a few thoughts, if only for the blazingly fast performance Crystal delivers.

I'll have a look closer to your checklist. Unfortunately I am extremely busy this week since coming back from holiday that I had last week :)

Is there some kind of reference test I can use to check for compliance?

We are currently working on a TCK (Test Compatibility Suite) that we will release soon. It will help to validate if your parser complies against the specification and exactly behaves like any other parser. More about it with the coming week :)

Hi, how is the Compatibility Suite coming along? Any news there? I believe I have completed most of the roadmap and am keen to find out about the bits I missed.

We are working on that. There are many cases involved and I still have to commit my changes which is in my backlog for this week. I'll update you next week. After that I need to do a last check and validation with the team and we are ready to go.

Hi @beno, I know that you still wait for the TCK. We had some identified issues we worked on the last couple of weeks, but we should finish that soon. sorry for any inconvenience.
