Description
Personally, I really like how the lasso tool has improved, I think a Magic Pen tool would be good to bring in as well. Basically, it's like an automatic lasso that wraps around the borders of colour strokes (line art, blobs, etc) when tapped around it. Being able to invert it as well would make a lot of things easier.
As for the layers, I've been using Kleki since it still only had like 6-8 layers max and the 16 layer jump is pretty decent. But for some artists (like me), 16 layers is still a bit limiting and forces a lot of merging with layers that shouldn't be merged for artistic purposes. Perhaps doubling up again to 32 layers could be more optimal? I'm not sure if this is possible to optimise but I was thinking removing the layer cap completely would be a good improvement.
Now the third thing I was thinking of, is adding folders to the layers. This would make organisation simpler to go through as layers could be separated between different folders. This probably would work best with an increased layer cap as it would keep layers from getting too disorganised and confusing to navigate through if there's a lot of them being used.
As for the fourth thing, I was thinking a colour picking history would be pretty useful. It'd basically be the ability to make swatches and palettes without stressing much about "where is the right colour for this/that". Accidentally pick a different colour before you can use the previous one? Go into the colour picking history and it's right there. As for the limit of how many colours are stored, I don't really know. Maybe a maximum of, like, 15-20? A decent size at least for a whole canvas' work of colours.
Now for the very final thing, I was thinking of some new layering options. Three actually. 2 which are both clear white. Basically what this would do is clear out all the white anywhere on the layer. While the other option for clear white sets the whole layer to a greyscale. These both would be very useful for different types of art.
And for the other layering option, I was thinking of an overlay option. Similar to ibis paint where the layer overlays the layer beneath it but only on the things IN the layer. Say for example you draw a circle. Then make a new layer above it and draw a triangle. If you overlay that triangle layer then the triangle will fill into the circle instead of covering the circle but you don't have the merge them. This makes editing and certain effects less of a hassle to draw. The layer above will not cover the entire canvas. Kinda like putting stencils over each other.
These are just some suggestions I could think of to potentially make the platform even greater! And I appreciate whoever takes the time to read through these and possibly consider them. <3
