Caps lock stuck

For a while I've been having an issue where I'm using mouse+keyboard on my PC to type text on my Mac, where both the caps lock button becomes stuck, and keypresses start adding an extra "A". Usually I can get this to go away by restarting the Windows client, but on the new prerelease.9 version I had to shut off Cursr on both sides, start the macOS client first, then start the Windows client.

The logs mention a shortcut, but apart from the "Disable Transitions" default one I don't have anything configured in the Key Shortcuts section on either client. I also see some [warn] Ignoring received CapsLock key down because CapsLock is already on (true, true) messages.

I don't know if these logs are helpful, but here's some logs of me trying to coax it into turning caps lock off, from both the Windows and macOS sides:

Okay, it looks like I can reliably reproduce this. In Windows, I'll take a screenshot in Steam, and because the Steam screenshot viewer's "Copy to Clipboard" doesn't work, I go to the folder where that screenshot lives, open it in the Photos app, copy that, then move my mouse over to the macOS client.

I think what I'm doing is moving my mouse over too quickly after copying, and that's corrupting something, because if I do a copy and stay on the Windows side for a bit, it doesn't seem to break anything.

Okay, no, just having the screenshot in my clipboard has a chance to trigger the issue. Or maybe it's having a lot of screenshots in my clipboard history?

Clipboard history overall should not cause issues, I can't say for sure what is the cause atm without trying to debug the issue, but previously there have been cases where modifier keys including caps can get stuck, but then it was triggered by using certain shortcuts that were not handled properly but shouldn't be the case this time.

If you observe anything else of interest do let me know. I'll provide an update as soon as I'll have a chance to debug the issue and will know if it's a quick fix or may be more complicated

I tried to replicate this multiple times but no luck, over many days shift got stuck once but could not repeat that again. I'll continue looking into how/when this happens and try to resolve it but it may take a while. I think it's not related to the clipboard at all just something about the combination of keys and some race condition of events/messages passed between two devices.

Could I ask you to delete logs of Cursr on both devices, keep same debug options enabled, restart the app on both devices and then try repeating the copy/paste (whatever else you do when issue happens) slower than you usually do, taking a break between every step. Especially make sure that when you move mouse between devices no key is being held down (normally should not be an issue, but just to exclude some factors) - let me know if issue still occurs and resend the logs to contact@cursr.app .

Since I opened this issue, I've replaced my monitors, my keyboard, and my mouse, and before I'd done that, I was running into this issue constantly, like on a near-daily basis. But on the new setup, it took weeks for me to see it, so I'm a lot less confident that I'm able to successfully reproduce it. Maybe the clipboard is a red herring, but it feels like it happens after I do a copy with Win+C (or Cmd+C).
