merge_multiepisodes.py

Added a few episodes today and one was a multiepisode file. Ran the merge_multiepisodes.py script (as I have done countless times in the past with no issues). Today it runs and does not merge the episodes into one in Plex.

File is named as Show - S36E01-E02 - Episode Title.mp4. Plex lists both episodes under the correct show and season.

Can this be related to the new version of Plex (I'm running Version 1.41.6.9685), or do I have something crazy going on now?

I got it sorted out. It was looking for "Survivor" but was finding "Designated Survivor" instead.

Modifying the script as follows seems to have sorted it out:

Find

show = plex.library.section(library).get(show)

and replace with

section = plex.library.section(library)
show = next((s for s in section.search(show) if s.title == show), None)

if not show:
    print(f"❌ Show not found with exact title: {show}")
    return
