Installing update 1.6

Maybe I am dense. AirDrop Assistant notifies me that an update is available and takes me to the github latest releases page. I download and open the dmg, attempt to drag the updated version to the Utilities folder, asked to replace, get notified that Airdrop Assistant is running and must be quit first. Quit the app, try again. Rinse and repeat over and over.

I'll look into it and try to re-create it.

Is launch at login enabled? If so, uncheck that...then try quitting and replacing.

I usually recommend the PKG for installing but with the switch to using Sparkle to handle updating after 1.6 I had to add a DMG to the release.

Thanks for the quick response. Unchecking the Launch at Login allowed ADA to quit, or actually informed me that it would need to be relaunched at login to be used. Once I copied the update over successfully and relaunched ADA, I rechecked the Launch at Login and all is good. Rick

Ok. So I know the problem then. When it's set to launch at login it's running as a launch agent and when quit relaunches itself. Which is why you basically were stuck on 1.5 over and over. I'm not sure there's anything I can do to prevent that other than mention on the release to do X, Y, Z step first.

Thankfully in the future the notification to update will download and install the update vs just notify you there's something new.
