Is there an advantage to using "chedder" directive over angular "currency" filter?

https://github.com/brettshollenberger/FacultyUI/blob/master/filters/cheddar.js is a great directive, is there any difference between this and angulars built in currency filter?

If so, lets note the distinction in the directive with comments and possibly add to read me.

I'll add a README briefly; I agree, the difference should be written down. The Angular currency filter automatically adds cents (.00) to the currency format, even if no cents are used on the number in the db. In the Marlin quoter, we're working with estimates, and Rob's comps use whole numbers (I think decimal places connate a degree more accuracy than estimates really have anyway). The cheddar directive would add decimal places if they were used in the database, but it won't add them by default. It will also continue to format them correctly due to the /d{3}/ regex.
