@Zaneus92 , The @ivan-lednev Day Planner version feature. Yes, I completly I agree. I have been doing these for a while now. Does this Idea, have been implemented, in the TaskNotes version by @callumalpass ? I am newbie and exploring to use this option, if it's implemented. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. |

Outline
This looks like a lot, but hear me out...
There are functions that are crucial to my workflow that the Dayplanner plugin currently handles. I wish Tasknotes could incorporate these functions natively so that I don't have to juggle between the Dayplanner "Timeline" sidebar widget and Tasknotes integrated calendar and agenda views. This is increasingly challenging as Tasknotes calendar entries do not display in Dayplanners timeline view, causing potential issues with missed deadlines with work and home projects.
Looking through the plugin options for Dayplanner it seems like most (if not all) the functions could be intergrated with Tasknotes
Wishlist
1. plain text daily note integration with Agenda View and time blocks
1.1 Tasknotes created time blocks to automatically display in daily note as plain text bullet or checkbox with timestamp eg;
1.1.1 Option to place entries under a specific heading in daily note
1.2 Timestamped bullets and checkboxes manually written in daily notes by the user automatically display in Tasknotes Agenda view as time blocks
1.2.1 Option to pull or exclude entries under specific headings
1.2.2 Option to pull or exclude entries not under specific headings
1.3 Option for checkboxes without a timestamp in daily note to display at the top of agenda view as unscheduled blocks
1.3.1 Drag and drop unscheduled blocks into timeline
1.3.2 Sort entries chronologically after edits
1.3.3 Option to display bullets without a timestamp under specific headings as unscheduled blocks
2. Agenda View date display automation
2.1 Option to automatically switch to the date that corresponds with the currently open/active daily note
2.2 Independently cycle agenda views day display without changing the currently open/active daily note
3. Fix daily note links in Agenda view and calendar D view
Daily notes are correctly linked in 3D, W, M and Y views but are not linked correctly in D views.
Discussion
Daily notes are great as both a daily record and time planning space. Having the daily note integrations mentioned above will allow users to work within the tasknotes ecosystem more freely by not binding them to the "one note per task" principal. This kind of integration does not violate the one note per task principal, but rather augments its functionality by offering a secondary "lower" level to users through the timeblock system. For me, many small one-off daily events and tasks only need to be jotted down in a daily note. They are often things that would end up on a hand written to do list or fleeting post-it note and do not require the extensive functionality that tasknotes offers. In fact, those options only prove to be a hindrance when jotting down lower level tasks and events. Secondly, when using daily notes as a work log it is helpful to have each days agenda and tasks all in one place with graphic representation of the day in a timeline with timeblocks. Doing this with tasknotes currently requires double handling each instance and is just not feasible.
Example daily note
Below is a work day from last year showing essentially everything I wish tasknotes to include. I can only imagine how much more useful it would be if all of those entries could be easily included into tasknotes. If i needed to push an entry to google calendar and share with my team i could with one click. If there were an incident for any work block that needed follow ups i could use tasknotes functions to create a note for the entry without disrupting its timeblock.
Thanks!
I wish I had the skills to make these revisions myself. It doesn't like seem too much on the surface but I just don't have the knowledge currently to do it myself, nor to know if its even doable or not. Im so thankful for the work already done with this plug-in, especially the calendar and bases integrations!
If my ideas arent clear or if I'm missing something please ask. I really want to help
