Why everything regarding Ubuntu Core is so hard. It looks like unwanted product. Literally. There is so little information about it, and even AI after few seconds fall backs to commands and methods from Ubuntu Server (for example use of curl, wget, etc). I really like the concept of immutable base image, now I do understand models and why you came up with this idea. But why it has to be such... problematic and complicated. I have been around unix system administration for last 24 years... and this feels unnaturally complex.

I am not looking to build customized image on my own. I don't care about that. I just want an .img file with latest stable version, which I can use in Raspberry Pi Imager and install it on my SD Card.

I have been using Ubuntu Core for last 4 years. Yesterday I tried an update: from core22 to core core24 and then to core26 (as advised, to do upgrades one version at a time). It failed miserably during first update. Seriously. Blank screen, not even kernel booting. Even AI with all knowledge of humankind couldn't help me, and I did many recovery attempts even with manual coping files.

Fortunately I had daily backups, so restoring server is just an installation of a new .img and rsync files. I have also ansible provisioning for my server, but I saw a message, that there is no Python on core26 anymore... so we will see how about that.

Why literally you cannot change MOTD, and all methods fail.

Why basic utils like: curl, wget, rsync don't have official snaps? I found some scripts which use those tools inside of the core image.

Ubuntu Core 26 is not in Raspberry Pi Installer, .img.xz file is not even on:

Literally, how can I install it from macOS?
