Empty window on Arch Linux (AppImage v0.5.0)

The newest version 0.5.0 in the appimage format is only creating an empty window when starting on arch linux.

I don't have that environment to reproduce the issue. Does v0.4.0 work? Ping me at discord, and I can create a new package in another build env for you.

No. v0.4.0 and v0.3.0 show the same error. v0.2.0 works.

Alright, as we discussed at discord, the issue comes from tauri v2. Let's wait for the fix from tauri.

I've exactly the same issue from CashyOS too. I've tried some tips*, without success.
(*) Like passing WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 and/or WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 params at image launch.

No news about a fix? 😢

I can see many bug fixes and features adds since the first post here. Notably, some than can maybe solves our problem (I'm not an expert):

• v2.8.3 (Aug): "Fixed an issue that caused the runtime WebView2 detection to fail for FixedRuntime installations."
• v2.8.1 (Aug): "Move WebviewWindowBuilder::with_related_view behind the wry feature flag."
• v2.6.0 (Jun): several things

I just gave some ways that might help fix the bug. I'm not a developer for these languages and environments, but I want to help you fix what's not working in your app. For now, I can't use your app, even in an older version; it doesn't work at all. I should point out that I have no problems with other recent AppImages.

However, as I said, if you give more visibility to this project, it's certain that skilled persons will help to fix bugs and more! 😉

So, for now, I'm stuck with MediaInfo GUI personally. Which not only isn't attractive to begin with, but also doesn't allow using the Tree view on Linux version (seems only possible on Windows), which makes it even less usable. And you can't even export file (you must make copy-paste manually)! 😢

For Linux, for GUI made by MediaArea, I recommend using mediainfo-qt (if your distro repo has it) or the official Snap version which is powered by Qt. It has way more features and even some that Windows one not yet have (like viewing embedded cover art images in HTML view).

Waiting for a working version of BetterMediaInfo under Arch (yeah, it's still Better than the official UI), gui-qt is a good intermediate solution. It's up-to-date, and can find as AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mediainfo-gui-qt (deps are probably already installed, like in my case, you can check before make install if you want).
Personally, I'm okay with Flatpak and AppImages, but I avoid Snap.

After check (AUR), is allowed in gui-qt:

• Multi files opening
• All views
• Export in file (many formats)
• and maybe more (like cover view)

Do not do anything else after calling Delete(). Delete is the destructor. The MediaInfo object would be deleted after that and the handle is no longer valid. There is no need to call Close(). Close is for closing the opened file only. If you want to call Close, call it before/outside Drop/destructor.
