Code of Conduct — Daily-DSA | GSSoC’25 Documentation

Our Pledge

We as members, contributors, and maintainers of Daily-DSA pledge to make participation in our community a respectful, harassment-free experience for everyone—regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

We are committed to contributing to an open, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy learning environment, especially for those engaging with daily problem-solving and open-source collaboration through GSSoC’25.

Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment for our community include:

  • Showing empathy and kindness to others
  • Respecting differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Offering and accepting constructive feedback in a courteous manner
  • Acknowledging mistakes and learning from them
  • Prioritizing what is best for the broader community, not just personal outcomes

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Use of sexualized language or imagery, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
  • Public or private harassment of any kind
  • Publishing others' private information without explicit permission
  • Conduct that would be considered inappropriate in a professional or academic setting

Enforcement Responsibilities

Daily-DSA project maintainers and community leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and may take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior they determine to be inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, issues, or other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all project spaces—such as GitHub repositories, pull requests, issue discussions, and GSSoC'25 community channels—as well as when an individual is representing the project or its community in public spaces, including social media and online/offline events.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported to the maintainers through GSSoC’25 Discord or Linkedin. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

All project maintainers and reviewers are obligated to respect the privacy and security of anyone who reports an incident.

Enforcement Guidelines

Project maintainers will follow these guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:

  1. Correction
  • Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or behavior deemed unprofessional or unwelcome in the community.

  • Consequence: A private written warning, including an explanation of the violation and a reminder of expected behavior.

  1. Warning

  1. Temporary Ban
  • Community Impact: Serious violations including sustained disruptive behavior or harassment.

  • Consequence: Temporary suspension from participation in project spaces and interactions. Violation of this ban may result in permanent removal.

  1. Permanent Ban
