directory in main definition of bower json

I currently have a problem including the sass from
https://github.com/danlevan/google-material-color
The typical filter '**/*.scss' doesn't seem to work and my theory is that this is because the main "file" is actually a directory. Any help in the matter would be greatly appreciated, it is for this reason I think that neither the css nor scss are actually included.
