RemEx 2.4.0 — Dashboard 2.0
A ground-up overhaul of the RemEx Home Base dashboard, plus a batch of correctness, security, and quality fixes. This release covers everything since 2.3.0 (including the unreleased 2.3.1 / 2.3.2 changes).
✨ Dashboard 2.0 — the headline
The hardware-monitoring dashboard has been rebuilt on both the phone and the PC.
Correct readings, finally. The old dashboard could show a RAM card reading
1089.0ms— a timing sensor hijacking the RAM slot by name. Telemetry is now stamped at the source with a semantic kind and a canonical unit, so a load reads%, a temperature reads°C, memory readsGB, and a card can never again display the wrong unit. The "RAM Total" card now fills in correctly, and cards bind to sensors by a stable identity instead of a fragile name.Genuinely distinct views + a picker. Telemetry cards now offer real variety instead of three look-alikes: big-value + trend, value + sparkline, ring gauge, arc gauge, line, area, bar, and ambient show-pieces (hue-pulse, LED meter, dual-metric overlay). Tap a card's view icon to pick from a live thumbnail grid; "Auto" picks the best view for each metric.
Per-category shapes. The universal four-leaf-clover default is retired — each card category now defaults to its own distinct shape, and you can reshape cards individually or as a group.
Hold-to-lift arranging. A quick swipe pans the canvas; hold a card (~0.5 s, with haptics) to lift it, then drag to move or release to select. Selecting reveals a floating action bar to reshape, pin, or remove — one card or a whole group.
Motion-first coach marks (Android). First-run coaching with six animated hints built on Material 3 Expressive spring physics — a bouncy hold-to-lift demonstration, pulsing highlights on the menu and add button, a view-picker demo, a group select-and-drag demo, and a select-to-act demo. Replay anytime with the "?" button. The PC gets its own contextual coach mark too.
Device-grouped card picker + richer starter set. The "add card" picker groups sensors by device (CPU, GPU, each drive, network, motherboard), and a fresh install starts with a curated, correct set of cards showing real range: CPU/GPU load, RAM used/total, temperatures, and network throughput.
🌍 Localization
All the new Dashboard 2.0, coach-mark, and activity strings are translated across all 8 supported languages on both platforms (Spanish, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, Ukrainian).
