Icon not appearing in tray

Hi there,

I've just installed this but having the same issue as #9, currently able to see the applet in settings but not the panel. I'm on arch so I had to manually build and install which I think completed without issue, but no matter what I do I can't see the applet.

Lemme know if you need any system info or anything.

Apologies, looks like the applet just doesn't show up until you have logged in to Tailscale. Not sure if that is something that you could fix? That way people can avoid needing to go to terminal to login before using a GUI for management

I am working on a redesign so it works better as a flatpak. Unfortunately you'll still need to hit the terminal to run sudo tailscale --set-operator=$USER as it's designed to not run as root.

Yeah I did that one, but the icon itself still didn't show until I had logged in to Tailscale, meaning I needed to use terminal for login rather than GUI

That's an interesting bug I'll need to see if I can work out. I've been heavily committed to getting it moved to a flatpak, on top of all of my other projects and commitments, so it'll be put on the list of todos. The UI is getting changed a bit as well.
